She surprised many when she chopped off her locks for a bob cut as she prepared to jet off to Canada to shoot her new movie.

And judging from her newest Instagram snaps from their set, Bea Alonzo is absolutely loving her newest transformation.

She shared that her character, Ali, is of the fun-loving type, and she wanted her quirky haircut to be evocative of that personality. She added that Ali will lend a certain lightheartedness to the story, using the words "innocent" to describe her.

Similar to classic characters like Amelie Poulain in the French film "Amelie," she also said that Ali finds joy and laughter in all things.

Alonzo appears to highlight these traits of Ali in a series of Instagram photos she shared this Thursday, calling her "Ali The Explorer." She picked pictures that showed her smiling and laughing with co-star Aga Muhlach.

The still-untitled movie is a co-production between Viva Films, Star Cinema, and Ten17 Productions. It will be directed by Paul Soriano.
