MANILA — Coco Martin on Tuesday visited the office Sen. Lito Lapid, his former co-star in "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano" who exited the primetime series in 2019 in light of his election bid.

The meeting was photographed by the Senate Public Relations and Information Bureau, which posted the snap on Facebook.

Lapid, a screen veteran who rose to fame in the 1970s, returned to his action-star roots via "Ang Probinsyano." He played Romulo, more popularly known as Pinuno, leader of Vendetta.

Alongside Martin's Cardo, Pinuno's group toppled criminal activities within the government, including the cunning President Lucas Cabrera (Edu Manzano).

In early 2019, Lapid, along with other election aspirants who starred in "Ang Probinsyano," had to give up their roles in the program, in line with poll rules.

Martin, who is also credited as a director of "Ang Probinsyano," is gearing up for the series' filming resumption and primetime comeback via Kapamilya Channel.

"Ang Probinsyano" was among the ABS-CBN programs that halted production in mid-March amid the coronavirus pandemic. Its return was further held off with the government shutdown of ABS-CBN's broadcast operations in May.
