MANILA -- It is three out of three for The CompanY!

Three out of the three most recent biennial fundraising concerts of the Uno High School Alumni Association (UHSAA) was topbilled by the country’s premiere vocal group – “Silver Harmony (2015)” with Aiza Seguerra and Christian Bautista, “#ThrowbackOPMGreatestHits (2017)” with Joey Albert, and last Friday’s soldout Music Museum “Party of Five” concert with Joey Generoso.

It was also a reunion of sorts for The CompanY and Generoso as the last time they shared the same concert stage was more than eight years ago.

“The CompanY’s songs have captured our generation’s hearts with their songs,” says UHSAA president Ellen Martines. “In all our fundraising concerts, The CompanY has always delivered and reinvented themselves. Such a musical genius. We are very proud to have The Company and Joey in our show tonight.”

For “Patry of Five,” the now-quartet, composed of Moy Ortiz, Anne Quintos, Sweet Plantado-Tiongson, and OJ Mariano, plus Generoso opened with an upbeat medley of Styx hits – “The Best of Times” and “Rockin’ The Paradise.”

Generoso then took centerstage for his segment. Before starting his part of the show, he shared, “I have been out of Side A for five years now. And when people ask me if I still sing songs of Side A, I say, ‘Yes, e ako naman ang kumanta ng mga 'yun.” This was greeted by the appreciative audience, obviously eager to hear him dish some of his former band Side A’s biggest originals and revivals.

Generoso, who admitted not feeling that well that night, performed Jack Wagner’s “All I Need,” Steve Perry’s “Foolish Heart,” Joey Albert’s “Tell Me,” and the band's signature hits “Forevermore,” “So Many Questions,” and “Tuloy Pa Rin.”

The iconic lead singer of Side A brought the house down with his impressive rendition of Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing.”

Generoso’s set impressed his collaborators for the concert The CompanY, who joined him in a medley of Sergio Mendes’ sentimental hits – “Never Gonna Let You Go, “What Do We Mean To Each Other.”

For their solo set, The CompanY opened with impressive performances of Swing Out Sister’s “You On My Mind,” and Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan’s “Especially For You.”

The night was even made more special as The Company performed the world premiere of their newest single “’Sang Tawag Mo Lang,” composed by National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab and lyrics by Aidon Panlaqui.

The CompanY has been recording cover singles and albums the past years, so they profusely thanked Star Music, their new record label, for giving them the chance to record original songs again. The group then segued to a Ryan Cayabyab suite – “Hibang Sa Awit” and “Pen Pen De Sarapen.”

The group then paid tribute to one of the most iconic rock bands in the country, Eraserheads, with a medley of their hits. The CompanY member Mariano is part of the hit musical “Ang Huling El Bimbo,” which features the songs of the rock band.

As eagerly expected, the company performed a medley of two of their biggest hits “Baka Ikaw” and “Now That I Have You.”

The Company was then joined by Generoso in an upbeat finale of the biggest dance hits of the '80s and '90s.

For the encore, Generoso and The Company chose to end the night on a sentimental tone by singing “Ang Aking Awitin,” a Bong Gabriel original and previously recorded by Side A, and “Pakisabi Na Lang,” a The CompanY original.
