MANILA -- (5th UPDATE) Multi-awarded actor Eddie Garcia suffered a neck fracture while he was shooting a television series for GMA-7 in Manila, his family said Saturday.

On Sunday, Dr. Enrique Lagman, Garcia's family doctor, said the actor did not suffer a heart attack as earlier reported.

Hours before the announcement, pictures circulated on social media showing a seemingly unconscious Garcia being carried by several men while a crowd gathered around.

Netizens earlier claimed the 90-year-old actor was rushed to a hospital in Tondo, Manila where he was revived, and was eventually transferred to a hospital in Quezon City.
