Celebrities took to social media to ask for prayers for multi-awarded actor Eddie Garcia after he was rushed to hospital on Saturday due to a neck fracture.

Kapamilya personality Vice Ganda wished for the actor's "wellness and safety" as he tries to recuperate in the hospital.

As he asked for prayers, broadcaster Julius Babao called on Garcia, fondly called "Manoy," to fight.

Garcia has been part of the Philippine entertainment industry since the 1950s, portraying both lead characters and villains in action, comedy, drama, and even fantasy films and television series.

He was recently lauded for his portrayal of a gay senator in "Rainbow Sunset," a multi-awarded entry in the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
