MANILA – If there’s one thing that the lockdown has done for the relationship of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim, it is to draw them even closer.

In an interview for “Love Thy Chika” on Sunday, Chiu turned candid when she told host Ruffa Gutierrez that Lim is the only special person in her life.

She made this admission after Gutierrez asked her if she still sees Lim as part of her future.

“Wala naman akong ibang mahal. Wala naman akong ibang tinitignan na guy ngayon bukod ka Xi. Yung respeto namin sa isa’t isa is really there. Kung ano ang decision niya, I respect it. Kung ano ang decision ko, nire-respect niya din,” she said.

On the topic of jealousy, Chiu said it helps that Lim is an introvert and doesn’t have a lot of friends so there’s no reason for her to get jealous.

As for Lim, he said: “Wala [din akong pinagseselosan]. I think na-accept na namin sa isa’t isa na ganito ang ginagawa naming and we shouldn’t be jealous kasi there’s nothing to be jealous about.”

The two also talked about how they settle their differences whenever they have misunderstandings.

While Lim said they don’t really fight or argue that often, Chiu, for her part, shared: “Hindi namin pinapalagpas ang isang araw na hindi kami bati. Tatawag na lang siya bigla. Sasabihin niya, ‘Hindi ako makatulog. Ikaw kasi.’ Sometimes, [siya ang una nakikipagbati].”

Just like many couples nowadays, the COVID-19 pandemic has also prevented them from seeing each other.

In fact, Chiu shared that the last time they saw each other was more than a month ago.

“Birthday ko nagkita kami fast lang. Nag-dinner siya dito sa bahay. Meron siyang day pass pero kailangan niya rin umuwi agad bago mag-curfew,” she said.

When Gutierrez noted that Lim looks like he really misses Chiu, he replied: “Nakaka-miss naman talaga.”

Nonetheless, they try to cope by always talking to each other on the phone or by video-calling each other.

Prior to the lockdown, Chiu and Lim are almost always together because they were working on “Love Thy Woman.”
