MANILA – Shaina Magdayao admitted she doesn’t see herself working again with her former boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz.

Magdayao made this remark after she was asked in an interview on Tuesday if she’s open to do a future project with Cruz since her director in “Past, Present, Perfect” expressed intentions to work with the actor someday.

“Parang hindi po mangyayari. Parang hindi ko siya nakikitang mangyayari. Hindi eh,” she said before going on the explain herself further.

“Itong mga ganitong tanong, gusto ko siyang sagutin kapag nangyayari na talaga siya. Nanananahimik 'yung tao, irespeto natin kung nasan siya ngyaon,” she said.

For Magdayao, it would be unfair to drag Cruz’s name in any manner.

“Ang dami ko ring ibang ginagawa na wala rin namang kinalaman siya. Gusto ko na lang iwan doon. Gusto kong irespeto kung nasaan man siya sa buhay niya ngayon,” she said.

Cruz, with whom Magdayao had a controversial breakup in 2012, took an indefinite leave of absence from showbiz in October 2017 to attend to "personal matters."

Meanwhile, Magdayao also gave a straightforward answer when asked if she and Piolo Pascual ever shared something romantic.

“Hindi,” she said directly. “Nandiyan lang siya. Hayaan lang natin. Kapag dumating naman 'yung future kagaya ng sabi ko, sasabihin ko naman.”

While she doesn’t know what the future holds, Magdayao said she is grateful to have Pascual “sa past ko at nandito pa rin siya sa present ko.”
