MANILA — Yayo Aguila and Royce Cabrera, who starred in the 2019 Cinemalaya movie “Fuccbois,” are set to reunite in a new online series “Small Talk,” directed by Rod Singh.

Under TBA Studios, the new online series follows the story of different individuals who meet in an online app and their stories begin to unfold.

According to Aguila, she and Cabrera will topbill the episode “MILF.”

“I’m a mid-40s woman who met this young man na confused sa fiancè niya na infertile so as he confides it triggered me bilang my ex-husband left me due to my infertility, his ‘mansplaining’ and egotistical principles shooked the hell out of me,” Aguila said.

The actress said she’s excited to work with Cabrera again.

“Excited ako to have done this with Royce and we really loved the concept. Happy ako kasi gamay na namin ang isat-isa so that was already to our advantage,” she said.

Prior to enhanced community quarantine, Cabrera was part of the hit Kapamilya series “A Soldier’s Heart.”

Aguila also shared her thoughts as COVID-19 changed the taping and shooting setup.

“Having found out about the new guidelines, mixed emotions ako. Masaya kasi back to work pero ‘yung may feeling na ang hirap kasi it is so far and different from what we have been accustomed to. Tapos you can’t do more than one project na rin unlike the norm. Ang daming pros and cons pero what can we do, di ba? Mag-a-adjust talaga tayo kahit ayaw natin because life goes on,” Aguila said.

While under quarantine, Aguila said she spends her time cooking, exercising and reflecting.

“I have more time to cook now, exercise, read, reflect. ATM, I’m starting a vlog to make use of the free time and be able to inspire women, in particular, that even at this age, we can still achieve our goals and kind of catch up on what we have missed in life,” she said.

Asked of the things she learned amid lockdown, the actress said: “Itong quarantine makes you realize talaga that life is unpredictable. You’ll never know what it will throw at you. Ako, I hold on to my faith kasi ‘yung mga nangyayari sa virus, sa government, sa mga tao, ‘di ko na mako-control as a person. So I pray everyday and lift everything to God! That's one thing I can do and I believe each and every citizen of this world can do,” Aguila shared.
