MANILA – The Star Cinema movie “Kasal” starring Bea Alonzo, Derek Ramsay and Paulo Avelino had a strong debut, earning P10 million on its opening day.

The figure was announced by the ABS-CBN film outfit on Thursday.

“Congratulations, Team Kasal! 10 million THANK YOUS mula sa aming lahat para sa lahat ng sumuporta sa Star Cinema initial offering on its first day,” Star Cinema said on Instagram.

Alonzo, likewise, thanked all her supporters who have already seen the movie.

In the movie's first trailer, Lia (Alonzo), who, after finding a man to marry, is confronted by an ex trying to win her back. "Ngayon okay na ako, babalik siya? Para ano? Para guluhin ulit iyong buhay ko?" she tearfully asks.

But before you conclude that Ramsay's character is an undeserving jerk who broke Lia's heart, it is also revealed that the other man in the film, played by Avelino, harbors some dark secrets.

Directed by Ruel Bayani, "Kasal" is currently showing in 200 cinemas nationwide.
