MANILA — Kim Chiu on Saturday apologized for her attempted analogy relating classroom dynamics to the topic of ABS-CBN being taken off air by a government cease-and-desist order.

The actress made the confusing remark during a Facebook Live session Friday, wherein she and other Kapamilya stars denounced the move to shut down ABS-CBN’s free broadcast operations.

On Instagram, she blamed herself for letting her emotions over the topic close to her heart get the best of her.

She wrote: “Maraming salamat sa lahat ng nakinig at umunawa sa amin kagabi. Thank you for choosing kindness, empathy and compassion! Maraming salamat po.”

She then addressed her critics: “Sa sinabi tungkol sa ‘classroom,’ nung binasa ko, hindi ko din naintindihan. Haha! Pareho lang tayo!”

“Parang pagpapasara lang ng NTC sa ABS, ‘di maintindihan. Okay po. Sensya na! Nadala lang ng bugso ng damdamin. Sa dami ng sinabi ko 'yun lang talaga ang napansin niyo?. Kahit ano paman ang sabihin niyo OKAY LANG PO basta.”

In the said stream, Chiu brought up the topic about how a network such as ABS-CBN provides ordinary people with avenues and platforms to live out their dreams and help their families.

She was one of the many who spoke up, including the likes of Coco Martin and Judy Ann Santos.

The stream was used to launched an online campaign, dubbed "Laban Kapamilya," which encouraged fans of ABS-CBN to post pictures of them online with their fists over their heart as a show of support.
