MANILA – While surprisingly strong rains dampened most parts of the metro on Wednesday night, the mood inside the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City was filled with contagious fun, gratitude, and endearing warmth.

The uplifting mood that enveloped the arena was induced by the music of American singer-songwriter Jason Mraz, who was here for the Manila leg of his "Good Vibes" concert tour.

Clad in a colorful jumpsuit, Mraz presented himself to the crowd with a guitar that was embellished with a color pattern on the body. Meanwhile, the band members who accompanied him were also decked out in colorful attire.

Filipino fans had waited for almost five years to watch the singer perform his showstopping songs live again -- and Mraz made sure it would be worth it.

The Grammy-winning singer kicked off the show with "Let's See What the Night Can Do" that gave the concertgoers an inkling on what the rest of the concert had to offer.

He then sang "Living In The Moment," "Curbside Prophet," and "Unlonely" among others that made the audience stand and clap as the singer plucked the strings of his guitar enthusiastically.

He also played the crowd favorites "I'm Yours," "I Won't Give Up," and "Lucky."

Among the highlights of the night was when Mraz was joined onstage by Filipina singer Reneé Dominique. They gave the crowd an exclusive treat when they both sang their heartfelt collaboration "Could I Love You Any More?" which is set to be released.

"Think somebody in your life who helped you become better. Take this opportunity to think about them," he told the crowd.

Mraz's diverse set list created a positive atmosphere that certainly lived up to the tour's "Good Vibes" promise.

He capped the show with "Love Someone" -- a perfect choice for a finale as it tugs at heartstrings with lyrics like: "It's wonderful to be giving with my whole heart, as my heart receives your love."

Indeed, Mraz gave his whole heart on the MOA Arena stage to his local fans and he got their all-out support in return.

Among the elated fans who witnessed Mraz's return to Manila was Cybil Mayuga, who decided to make her 31st birthday more special by watching the show.

"College pa lang ako favorite ko na siya," she said. "May 8 [ang] birthday ko. Saktong-sakto. Perfect timing [kasi] concert niya, favorite ko [siya], at birthday ko, so napaka-special."

During the 2-hour concert, she said she got hooked to the beaming optimism the singer emanated.

"'[May] mga part na nagbibigay siya ng inspiration about positivity, good vibes. Natuwa ako kasi aside from kumakanta siya, nagbibigay siya ng inspiration sa'yo," she said.

Asked about her favorite song, she said: "'Yong 'I Won't Give Up' kasi sa love di ba, lahat may mga struggles 'yan eh. Wala namang perfect relationship. Lahat may pinagdadaanan so dapat hold on lang."
