MANILA – Jasmine Curtis-Smith did not have to think twice when movie director Paul Soriano contacted her for a role in his upcoming movie to be shot in Siargao.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Saturday, Curtis-Smith said she has already worked with Soriano when she did “Transit” and she would be honored to work with him again.

“Kinuha ako ni direk Paul Soriano. He contacted us. I guess because nag-work na kami before sa 'Transit' and siguro malakas naman ang tiwala niya sa trabaho ko, kinuha niya ako for the role,” she said.

Aside from Curtis-Smith, the movie will also star Jericho Rosales and Erich Gonzales.

Asked to share something about the story of the film, Curtis-Smith said: “It's a film about finding home and gusto namin ipakita sa film na a simple life can bring happiness to anyone. Kailangan mo lang talagang hanapin yung organic and most pure way of living para ma-enjoy mo lahat and ma-achieve mo rin ang dreams mo while falling in love.”

In a separate interview with entertainment site Push, Soriano shared how excited he is to finally start filming his first-ever romantic-drama movie.

“Hopefully through the film people will appreciate and see the island of Siargao and of course the story that we’re going to tell. I’m hoping I can do this, that I can pull this off. I’m a little nervous actually. But you know I’m excited to work with a great cast,” he said.

Soriano said he appreciates Rosales’s enthusiasm and “how collaborative he is with me even in the writing process up to the production.”

Gonzales, on the other hand, is the one who brings out “a nice, youthful, and positive attitude to the film,” Soriano said.

As for Curtis-Smith, the movie director said: “She just brings it and she’s always ready and I’m also very thankful that Jasmine accepted the project.”
