MANILA - Actress Marlann Flores denied on Friday that Kathryn Bernardo has switched to another religion after claiming that the Kapamilya star has "accepted Christ as her own personal savior."

On her Instagram page, Flores posted a photo with Bernardo, known to be a member of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), and two other women.

The caption read: "[Kathryn] and Trina both received Christ today as their own and personal Savior! Praise be to God! This year has been fruitful already! Let's proclaim God's name with boldness and conviction."

It fueled speculations from fans that Bernardo has switched to another religion. "They have their own faith and practices. I just shared them the Gospel," Flores said in reply to one of her followers asking about Bernardo's faith.

This is not the first time fans have questioned the religious ties of Bernardo. Back in 2013, several criticized the "Pangako Sa 'Yo" star for celebrating Christmas, a known December tradition for Catholics.

Bernardo has yet to speak up about her faith. On Thursday, INC declared its support for presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., who is running for vice president.

INC requires its members to vote as one, in accordance with the church's beliefs and the importance it places on unity.

Bernardo, as well as rumored boyfriend Daniel Padilla, is a known supporter of the tandem of Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo, the candidates of the Liberal Party.
