MANILA – Tony Labrusca admitted that he has anger management issues, which is why he immediately loses his temper even over the smallest things.

He made this confession during his interview on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” Monday while playing the game “Legit or Lie” with host Boy Abunda.

Labrusca thinks his temper issue stemmed “from feeling like I wasn’t being heard” when he was younger.

“I just felt like growing up, I was the type of kid who when I’m in fight or in an argument, I always want my piece to be heard. And I didn’t feel like I was always being listened to,” he said.

“It got to a point where I was just like this angsty kid who is so angry at everything. It came to a point that I don’t even know why I am so angry. I don’t even know why I am so upset anymore. I am a little bit grumpy,” he added.

But Labrusca is working on it by having sessions with a life coach and actually seeing a doctor.

“I wanted to know why I was so emotional. It’s like a double-edged sword. Me being emotional has helped me so much in my acting because I feel like I can relate to so many stories that aren’t mine,” he said.

“And they told me that there’s a side of my brain which controls my emotions and it’s running on beta waves. It’s the highest frequency it can go. I don’t really have that much control over my emotions,” Labrusca explained.

Relating this issue to the airport controversy which he got embroiled in last January, Labrusca said he learned that “calmer heads will prevail.”

“It has also taught me so much about humanity and the industry that I’m in. I don’t want to complain because this is exactly what I signed up for,” he said.

At the beginning of the year, Labrusca let his emotions get the better of him in dealing with an immigration officer.
