Everyone knows that she can belt out a good Aegis song. She did become the first-ever champion of the "The Voice Kids Philippines" with her cover of "Basang-Basa Sa Ulan."

But not a lot may know that Lyca Gairanod is as good in her studies as she is in singing that classic "heto ako ngayon" line.

The proof is in the recognition medal she received this week, which she posted on Instagram from her school in General Trias, Cavite.

Gairanod, whose family used to live off scraps before she won "The Voice," has said that she dreams of becoming a teacher.

And judging from her diligence at school --made more impressive considering she's also balancing it with performing at mall shows-- there's very little reason to doubt that she'll become a wonderful educator some day.
