The hosts of the latest season of "Pinoy Big Brother"
MANILA -- Amid rumors that former ABS-CBN host Mariel Rodriguez might return to the newest season of "Pinoy Big Brother," the reality show's hosts Toni Gonzaga and Bianca Gonzalez said they would definitely welcome her back if it proves to be true.
"Ako I would love too. Lagi kong kausap si Mariel about the possibility of her coming back," Gonzalez said during the show's press conference on Tuesday.
"Pero siyempre ang gusto namin ay hindi naman 'yun ang masusunod kasi ang daming layers of consideration, hanggang sa kataas-taasan ng mga bossing. Siyempre the management knows best. Pero bata pa naman kami and we are positive in the future na magkaka-work pa din kami together," she said.
Last November, Rodriguez hinted that she may be going back to ABS-CBN when she posted on Instagra that she was meeting with network executive Laurenti Dyogi, who is in charge of "Pinoy Big Brother."
Rodriguez left ABS-CBN in 2011 to join Willie Revillame’s primetime game show "Wiltime Bigtime," which eventually became the noontime show "Wowowillie."
Before moving to the No. 3 network, she was part of several Kapamilya noontime shows such as "Wowowee" and "Pilipinas Win NA Win" and also co-hosted "Pinoy Big Brother" with Gonzaga and Gonzalez.
Gonzaga, who had a rift with Rodriguez in 2010, stressed that she would love to have Rodriguez in the show again.
"Of course, she will always be family," Gonzaga said. "Kami we are open to possibilities talaga, anything can happen, especially kami empleyado lang ng ABS-CBN, 'di kami ang nagde-decide kung sino magiging part ng programa," Gonzaga said.
Gonzaga, who did two seasons of the hit reality show with Rodriguez, added that Rodriguez will always be a part of the show's success.
"I think wala ng makaka-replace what she left sa PBB. 'Yung contribution niya, walang makakapalit doon. We can always have an addition to the family but no one can ever take her place. She will always be part of PBB," Gonzaga said.
"Pero feeling ko sa Sunday, may mga twist pa at may bago pa kaming malalaman," Gonzaga added.
