MANILA - As Ai Ai delas Alas celebrates her recent engagement with her boyfriend Gerald Sibayan, who is nearly 30 years younger than her, we take a look back at some of the other local stars who have proven that in love, age doesn't matter.

Freddie Aguilar and Jovie Albao (44-year age gap)

Albao was only 16 when she and OPM icon Freddie Aguilar got married on November 23, 2013 in Islamic rites in Buluan, Maguindanao, a month after the singer first admitted their relationship. She celebrated her debut months before the "Anak" hitmaker turned 62.

Tia Pusit and Nathan Villa (38-year age gap)

The late comedienne was 65 and her past boyfriend, 27, when they broke up in late 2013 after more than a year of being a couple. Tia Pusit, whose real name is Myrna Villanueva, died in October 2014 after battling kidney failure. She is survived by her four children.

Dolphy and Zsa Zsa Padilla (35-year age gap)

When he passed away in 2012, the "Comedy King" was 83 years old, while Padilla, his partner of 23 years, was 48. They have two children together.

Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna (35-year-age gap)

The pair tied the knot in early 2016 after more than a five-year romance, not letting the issue on their huge age difference get in the way of their happiness.

Dionisia Pacquiao and Michael Yamson (27-year age gap)

The "Pacmom" was 65 and her seaman-boyfriend, 38, when they went public with their relationship in August 2014. During the celebration of her 66th birthday, Mommy D said of Yamson, "Siya ang nagbuhay sa puso ko."

Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho (23-year age gap)

The relationship of celebrity doctors Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho has been repeatedly put to the test -- from sex video scandals in 2009 to alleged third parties. Despite all these, the two managed to be "unofficially together" again in 2013, with Belo admitting last year that they are once again talking about marriage.

In May 2016, the pair introduced to the public their daughter Scarlet Snow, who was born through artificial insemination using a surrogate mother.

Chiz Escudero and Heart Evangelista (15-year age gap)

Evangelista and Escudero got married back in 2015. The senator, who has two children from a past marriage, will be 48 by October this year, while the former teen star celebrated her 32nd birthday last February.

Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez (15-year age gap)

Padilla and Rodriguez have been married since 2010. The couple recently welcomed their first baby last November, three months after Rodriguez turned 32. Padilla, on the other hand, is 47.

Kris Aquino and James Yap (11-year age gap)

The two got married in civil rites in 2005 and have one child together, Bimby, who is now a child actor. Following allegations of infidelity, Aquino and Yap's marriage was declared null in February 2012. The actress-host turned 46 last February, while the star cager turned 35 a day later.
