MANILA – Although they are obviously much closer to each other now, Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia maintain that there is still nothing romantic going on between them.

Garcia stressed that he is not yet courting Barretto although he hinted that he plans to do so eventually.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Garcia said: “Sayang kasi 'yung trabaho. Eventually. Sana naman. Nandoon pa kami sa nagtatrabaho kami, kasi gusto muna namin mag-focus. Sayang 'yung opportunity.”

When Barretto said they should just then be “work friends” for now, Garcia was quick to reply: “Sana nga hindi eh.”

Garcia said there are a lot of good qualities that he likes about Barretto but his most favorite is the actress’ sweetness towards him.

“Ang maganda kasi sa amin, naba-balance namin yung isa’t isa.; Gusto ko yung pagiging sweet niya sa akin and maalaga din,” he said.

The same is true for Barretto, who appreciates how Garcia always takes care of her.

“Ang dami namang good qualities ni Josh but my most favorite is 'yung pagiging maalaga niya. Every time I am with him, I feel safe lang because I know na I’m taken care of,” he said.

The two also shared how they ended up watching the Coldplay concert early this month, with Barretto admitting she really wanted to go to the show with the actor.

“Kasi nung binigay sa akin 'yung tickets, ang pagkakaalam ko, may ticket na si Josh before pa. Binigay ko kay Claudia, 'yung younger sister ko, 'yung ticket. And then I found out na ayaw na niya manood kasi tinatamad daw siya. I called him. I said I wanted to be with him in the concert so he bought a ticket. Mga three hours before siya naghanap. Hindi naman siya nag-regret. It was his first concert,” she said.

Currently, Garcia and Barretto are gearing up for their second movie together following the success of “Vince and Kath and James.”
