MANILA - Fan-favorite actress Jodi Sta. Maria will be working on a new television series set to air this year, it has been confirmed.

Sta. Maria, who starred in the hit primetime remake of "Pangako Sa 'Yo" last year, revealed: "Magbabalik telebisyon na tayo this year."

She declined to discuss the upcoming project, however.

After portraying Amor Powers, Sta. Maria worked on "The Achy Breaky Hearts" with Ian Veneracion and Richard Yap. She also made an appearance on "Maalaala Mo Kaya" before shooting another movie, "Dear Other Self."

There's no release date yet for "Dear Other Self," a new Star Cinema movie which stars her opposite Joseph Marco and Xian Lim, but Sta. Maria assured fans that it will be released soon with shooting having been wrapped up.

According to Sta. Maria, "Dear Other Self" is about a woman who finds herself at a fork in the road. It will then diverge and will continue to tell the story of the character going down one path alongside a second version of her picking the other.

"Kung una mo siyang papanoorin akala modalawang tao ito. Hindi. Isang tao lang siya na gumawa lang na magkaibang desisyon," she said.

The movie was partly shot in Thailand.

Sta. Maria was speaking to reporters after a photo shoot for the movie's promotional materials.

Asked about her own "what if?" moment akin to her character, she said: "Siguro, what if naging doctor ako? Kasi iyon iyung pinag-uusapan namin kanina. Kung tinuloy ko iyong medicine, ibang-iba siguro iyong buhay ko ngayon."
