MANILA – Kathryn Bernardo believes that one reason why her partnership with Daniel Padilla works on- and off-camera is the fact that her family, especially her parents, approve of their tandem.

Para na siyang anak,” the actress said during the press conference for their upcoming film “Can’t Help Falling in Love” on Wednesday.

But Padilla had to earn her family’s trust over the years.

“Matagal bago niya na-earn yung trust,” Bernardo said.

For her part, Bernardo is also grateful that she doesn’t have a hard time getting along with Padilla’s mother, actress Karla Estrada, as well as his siblings.

More than just the ‘KathNiel,’ 'yung mga team namin, parang isang family na,” she said.

When they were just starting as a love team, Padilla said he had to show that he only has good intentions for Bernardo and that her family can trust him.

Wala naman kaming ginagawa para pasamain yung loob nila,” he said.

Currently, Padilla and Bernardo are busy promoting “Can’t Help Falling in Love” which will be released in theaters nationwide on April 15.

This is Padilla and Bernardo's first movie together following the widely successful "Barcelona: A Love Untold."
