MANILA -- Sylvia Sanchez was named best actress for her performance in the movie "Jesusa" at the 5th Sinag Maynila Film Festival's Gabi ng Parangal held on Sunday in Pasay City.

Sanchez tied with Angela Cortez for the movie "Jino To Marie."

Nar Cabico, meanwhile, was named best actor for "Akin Ang Korona."

Daniel Palacio won the best director award for his movie "Pailalim," which was also named best picture.
