MANILA – Erich Gonzales is looking forward to giving life to her character in the upcoming ABS-CBN series “Love Thy Woman.”

Produced by Dreamscape, the series will also star real-life couple Kim Chiu and Xian Lim.

“I’ve worked with Kim in ‘Sana Maulit Muli’ in 2007 'yun if I’m correct. Si Xian naman, I’ve worked with him in ‘Katorse’ 10 years ago so matagal na,” she said.

“Super excited ako because after ‘Blood Sisters,’ yung project na susunod kong gagawin is under Dreamscape again. Ever since, sobrang grateful ako sa kanila kasi binibigyan po nila tayo ng magandang proyekto. Honored ako sa tiwala nila,” she added.

In “Love Thy Woman,” Gonzales plays Queenie Wong, an architect and also the legitimate daughter of Christopher de Leon and Eula Valdez.

She is the half-sister of Kim Chiu’s character, and the fiancé of Xian Lim’s.

When asked what made her agree to do the series, Gonzales cited its intriguing storyline.

“Nung prinesent nila sa akin 'yung story, na-excite ako sa kuwento kasi family drama siya… Exciting lang mapanood kung paano gagawin 'yung mga eksena kasi I think first time mapapanood sa TV 'yung ganun,” she said.

Will Queenie Wong be a mean half-sister considering she is from the first family?

“No po. Lahat po kami dito, biktima ng love sa kuwento. Exciting. Kahit ako, I can’t wait na mabasa na 'yung script. Although hindi pa namin alam what’s going to happen sa ending, malayo pa naman 'yun but nakaka-excite,” she said.

Meanwhile, Gonzales confessed that one of the challenges she expects when they start filming would be learning how to speak Mandarin.

“Lahat daw kami Chinese so we need to learn 'yung Mandarin. Litong lito na ako in life. Bisaya, Tagalog, English tapos Mandarin pa. Lord, please help me,” she said, laughing.

Aside from her, Chiu, Lim, de Leon and Valdez, its powerhouse cast also includes Sunshine Cruz, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Ruffa Gutierrez and Jennifer Sevilla.
