Vice Ganda's birthday celebration on "It's Showtime" had the comedian feeling nostalgic about his humble beginnings. On Saturday, some of his comedy bar friends paid the noontime show a visit and helped put on a riot of a skit.

Each part was a walk down memory lane for Vice Ganda: how he was when he first tried out being a stand-up, how he landed his first TV break, how he reacted when he first had a huge movie hit, with high jinks and hilarity thrown in. The result was a wholly entertaining 15 minutes that had the audience in fits of laughter.

Afterwards, a nostalgia-bitten Vice Ganda could not help but give a shout-out to those who helped his career fly off the ground. First, he introduced Hans Mortel, the comedian who discovered him.

"Bago ako tulungan ng tuloy-tuloy nina Ogie Diaz, siya ang unang nakakita sa akin sa comedy bar sa Mabini," he said.

Vice Ganda then remembered a friend who lent him money so that he could buy clothes for his first comedy bar show back when he was still a college student.

"Nakakatuwa kasi ang daming kong mabubuting kaibigan . . . I'm so blessed at ang dami ninyong nagmamahal sa akin," Vice Ganda said.
