There's probably a lot of screaming that went around the offices of those behind the horror movie "Eerie" this Friday afternoon --the joyous kind, to be more particular.

This, after the Star Cinema original starring Bea Alonzo and Charo Santos crossed the P100 million mark in the domestic box office, just 10 days since its release.

The nun school thriller earned another P30 million from Tuesday this week to around 5 p.m. Friday to take its total to P102 million, making it the most successful local film bar "Alone/Together" --another Star Cinema movie-- to be released this 2019.

It was directed by Mikhail Red, who posted a quote about "making money to make more movies" on Instagram to celebrate.

Set in the 1990s, "Eerie" centers on a clairvoyant counselor who investigates a student’s death. The student appears to have taken her own life, with her ghost lingering in the halls of the school.

The movie made its world premiere in December 2018 at the Singapore International Film Festival.
