It was their first time performing at an arena.

And their Filipino fans ensured it was a memorable one for US band LANY (pronounced "lay-nee"), with lead singer Paul Klein apologizing for being overcome with emotion as they began their encore set.

The sold-out crowd was unrelenting Thursday night in showing their support for Klein and his group who, days before, expressed their excitement over headlining a venue the size of the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Klein posted on Twitter a short video showing him visibly in tears over the rapturous reception their fans gave them as he returned to the stage for their last few songs.

In the caption, he called their local supporters the "best fans in the world," adding that it was the "best night of his life" and that he's "sorry for ugly crying."

LANY was formed in 2014 with the release of the EP "Acronyms." They are best known for their hit slow jam "ILYSB" (a.k.a. "I Love You So Bad") and "Super Far."

They already performed twice in the country prior to Thursday, once as part of a music festival and another for a series of mall tours. They will again perform at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Friday night.

Following their stop in Manila, they will head to South Korea and Japan before flying back to California for Coachella.
