MANILA – Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber came out with a joint statement on Sunday clarifying the status of their relationship.

On Instagram, the onscreen partners talked to their avid followers who have been there for them since they began their team up three years ago.

“Sa loob po ng tatlong taon na nandito ang Mayward, nakita niyo po at narinig niyo mula mismo sa aming dalawa ang tunay na nararamdaman namin para sa isa’t isa. Masaya at masarap po sa pakiramdam ang idea ng isang romantic relationship, but as we go along our journey, we realize na hindi basta-basta lang to get into a relationship,” the two said.

While asking for everyone’s understanding, Entrata and Barber said they would continue taking care of each other as best friends.

“Sa ilang taon naming pagsasama, sa trabaho man at sa personal, pareho po namin na-realize na sa estado ng buhay namin ngayon, we both are still very young and there is so much more we still want to achieve in our lives,” they said.

The two also noted that there is no need for them to rush into anything and that means “not having a romantic relationship between us at this point.”

“Pareho po namin na-realize that being the best of friends will even be more beneficial for us. Mas kumportable kami makakapagtrabaho. Wala pong pagbabago. Kami pa din ang magkasama dahil there’s no one else we would rather work with than each other,” they said.

To end their statement, Entrata and Barber said they are praying for everyone’s support, respect and love amid their decision.

The two have been a love team since their stint as housemates inside the “Pinoy Big Brother” house.
