MANILA — Former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate and breakout actor Joshua Garcia has revealed that the three-storey townhouse he recently bought was a gift for this father, Geo.

“Gift ko ‘yun sa Papa ko,” Garcia was quoted as saying by PEP.ph.

Garcia has been open about his family’s struggles prior to his showbiz entry. During his “PBB” stint, he revealed that his parents separated when he was only a year old. According to Garcia, his mother raised him until he was five, and then left him in the care of his uncle, and eventually his father, due to financial difficulties.

Referring to the completion of the house’s construction, as well as its furnishings, he said: “Ngayon, wala na masyadong ginagawa, kasi last time, nilalagyan ng parang mga bubong, tapos ginagawa pa mga table, mga cabinet, ‘yung mga kulang. Ngayon, wala na masyadong ginagawa.”

Photos of the townhouse’s blessing circulated among fans of Garcia online in February. Among the guests at the time was the actor’s onscreen partner and rumored girlfriend, Julia Barretto.

It wasn’t clear then whether Garcia had bought a row of townhouses, as seen in the photos. The actor has now clarified that they only own one of the units.

“Iyong presyo, huwag na nating pag-usapan,” he said. “Pero nabawi ko na iyon. Okay na ‘ko du’n. Nabawi ko agad noong pagpasok pa lang ng taon, kasi pumasok ‘yung tatlong endorsements.”

Garcia, 21, added, “Kinash ko ‘yon.”

With numerous projects lined up, on top of his ongoing endorsement deals, Garcia is well on his way to achieving his next big goal.

“Next na ‘yung dream house ko. Hindi ko pa alam kung saan ko itatayo pero sa ngayon, nasa ipon part ako, and plano ko, this year. ‘Pag naka-ipon na ‘ko, bago mag-end ng year, nakabili na ko ng bagong lupa,” he said.
