MANILA — You know that liberating feeling that comes with forgiving other people who hurt you? How that freedom allows you to trust others again? Moira dela Torre knows it too. And the singer tried to relate that sensation with a three-part story told through music videos —the last of which premiered this Thursday.

Her “Patawad” video rounded out the series that began with her collaboration with I Belong to the Zoo, “Patawad, Paalam,” and it filled the narrative gaps that have been withheld from her fans up until now: JM de Guzman’s character actually found love in between the time he and his girlfriend, played by Anna Luna, broke up suddenly.

This creates a whole new meaning for some of the previous scenes, such as Luna’s character crying alone, and explains why there was hesitation in them getting back together —despite apparently being still in love with each other.

If Dela Torre’s other videos focused on setting others free, this one revolves around the message —“ang pinakapinalaya mo pag ikaw ay nagpatawad ay ang iyong sarili” —as shown through how Luna’s character came to terms with her realization of who Guzman’s character truly loves.

“Patawad” is part of Dela Torre’s newest album, set to come out at midnight, Friday.
