"I'm currently hospitalized for pneumonia and so, I was tested for COVID-19 and I've been waiting for the results for several days now," she wrote in an Instagram post showing her in confinement.

Even as she remains uncertain about her condition, Calzado said her own challenging period "cannot compare to the frontliners who have cared for me and to whom I am so grateful."

"My heart goes out to everyone in these trying times, especially those who risk their lives every day to care for their loved ones," she said.

Calzado, 37, did not mention where she is confined, nor whether she is in isolation as a person under investigation for COVID-19.

Calzado is married to British-Filipino businessman Ben Wintle.

Addressing her followers, Calzado asked for prayers for "those who are currently sick and their loved ones, for every person struggling to cope in these tough times, and most especially, for the medical workers who are doing their best despite the hurdles."

"I count this time as an opportunity to be kind. To be a source of love and light. With the grace of God, I can fight this and we all fight this together," she said.

Calzado's testing for COVID-19 came a week after another actor, screen veteran Christopher de Leon, confirmed positive for the disease. He wad discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.

Calzado is one of the lead cast members of the upcoming teleserye, "Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin," whose March 23 premiere has since been postponed due to the coronavirus crisis.

It's unclear when Calzado first showed symptoms of pneumonia.

ABS-CBN halted all its entertainment productions, including "Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin," on March 14.

De Leon, who stars in "Love Thy Woman," earlier called on his colleagues to undergo self-quarantine, following the result of his COVID-19 test. ABS-CBN similarly urged the series' production team, saying it has coordinated with individuals who interacted with de Leon.
