MANILA – OPM band Ben&Ben will be holding a virtual concert this coming Friday March 27 at 7 p.m. to help raise funds for those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dubbed “Puhon!” the band will jam with each other and play their hits in a one-hour livestream show while staying in their own home, according to the group's official site.
The virtual concert aims to bring people together in fighting the spread of the disease in the Philippines “by providing a timely and coordinated response to affected communities, and by building a network of courage and inspiration through stories and music.”
“These challenging times will surely be remembered by many of us in the next few years. But apart from our challenges encountered, we will definitely remember as well the stories that proved how resilient Filipinos are and how our bayanihan spirit prevails in times of need,” the site added.
The money that will be raised will be used to purchase personal protective equipment and nutrition support for frontline healthcare workers, COVID-19 testing kits and relief goods for daily wage workers.
The beneficiaries of the fundraising event are the One Nation Against COVID-19 Project of the Manila HealthTek, Inc., the UP Manila National Institutes of Health, Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, the CDO COVID Donation Drive, and the PantawidCovid Project.
