LOOK: Liezl Martinez as 70's child star

MANILA - Liezl Martinez, daughter of screen veterans Amalia Fuentes and Romeo Vasquez, started out young in the world of show business.

Using the screen name Anna-Lissa, then four-year-old Martinez first became known in the 1971 film "Portrait of an Angel," which also starred her mother Fuentes.

That movie was quickly followed by other film projects: "Liezl at ang 7 Hoods" and "Europe Here We Come," both in 1971, and "Pinokyo en Little Snowhite," "Poor Little Rich Girl" and "Anghel ng Pag-ibig," all in 1972.

In 2007, Martinez was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. After an eight-year battle, she passed away on Saturday.

She was 47.

She is survived by her husband, Albert Martinez, and their three children Alyanna, Alfonso and Alyssa.
