Lorna Tolentino is introduced as Lily in the March 11 episode of "FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano." ABS-CBN

MANILA — After a week of being veiled in mystery, the red-dressed Lily character of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” was finally introduced in full sight, confirming speculation on the actress who plays her.

In the March 11 episode of the top-rating series, Lorna Tolentino made her grand entrance as Lily, a broker between the syndicates paying the government for protection.

Flanked by guards as she walked to meet President Cabrera (Edu Manzano), Lily brought with her an enormous sum of money, neatly tucked in luxury bags no less, from their latest collection.

Bent on crushing Vendetta, Cabrera had asked Secretary Hipolito (John Arcilla) to double the protection money from the drug syndicates. That meant putting Lily in the tight spot of demanding bigger amounts, while also ensuring the loyalty of the crime groups.

Tolentino’s debut as Lily cast a shadow of doubt as to the character’s allegiance, and whether she is playing a long game. The teaser for the Tuesday episode implied as much, with Cabrera second-guessing Lily’s motivations.

Tolentino’s addition to the long-running series coincides with the successive recent and planned departures of several characters played by candidates in the upcoming elections, in light of restrictions during the campaign period.
