Meet the new faces of 2018 Star Magic Circle

Star Magic unveiled its newest batch of stars on Sunday.

Collectively dubbed the 2018 Star Magic Circle, the new batch has a theater actress, an Ivy League graduate, acting workshoppers, an athlete, former reality show hopefuls and some who hail from showbiz families.

Indeed, they are the next artists who will make their respective marks in showbiz.

Here are the 13 new artists of Star Magic:

1. DONNY PANGILINAN

Donny is the son of Anthony and Maricel Laxa Pangilinan. According to Donny, he has always wanted to join showbiz but was too shy. Aside from hosting, he also likes acting, sports and music. Currently, Donny is a MYX VJ. He also appears on "ASAP" as one of its Chillout hosts. He is set to work on a series soon with Kisses Delavin. Michael Bagtas, ABS-CBN News

2. ZONIA MEJIA

Zonia was one of the housemates of “Pinoy Big Brother 737” in 2015. Since her stint in the famous yellow house, the 16-year-old swimmer went on to be part of some Kapamilya shows such as the youth-oriented show “LuvU” and “The Promise of Forever.” Michael Bagtas, ABS-CBN News

3. YASMYNE SUAREZ

Yasmyne started undergoing Star Magic workshops as early as 2013. To be further equipped in the line of career that she wants to pursue, she decided to study theater in New York University for two years. Now that she’s with the ABS-CBN talent management arm, Yasmyne hopes to put into use everything she has learned about acting both here and abroad. Photo from @starmagicphils’ Instagram

4. HENZ VILLARAIZ

Henz first tried his luck in showbiz by joining “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” last year. The farthest he got in the competition was in the Top 10. While he did not win the televised contest, it paved the way for Star Magic’s Johnny Manahan to notice him. Currently, Henz is part of the ABS-CBN series “Sana Dalawa ang Puso.” Michael Bagtas, ABS-CBN News

5. DANIELA STRANNER

Daniela is a 15-year-old football varsity player who was scouted at a music festival. Although she initially wanted to become a model, fate had her meet Star Magic’s Johnny Manahan. One of the youngest members of the group, Daniela is excited to delve further into the industry as an actress. Shiela Reyes, ABS-CBN News

6. PATTY MENDOZA

Patty, who is into dancing, drawing and singing, was first discovered modelling at the University of Santo Tomas, her alma mater. Prior to being scouted, Patty has already had a number of commercials. Now that she’s with Star Magic, she dreams of working with Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz one day. Michael Bagtas, ABS-CBN News

7. LEILA ALCASID

Leila is Ogie Alcasid's daughter with former wife Michelle van Eimeren, who represented Australia in the 1994 Miss Universe pageant held in the Philippines. Since she decided to move to the Philippines and live with her father, Leila tried to do some acting workshops that eventually endeared her to showbiz. Aside from acting, Leila also likes singing just like her father. In fact, she recently released her first single titled “Completely in Love with You.” Michael Bagtas, ABS-CBN News

8. ANNA LUNA

Anna is not new to acting, having been part of previous films including “Paglipay,” “Maestra,” The Breakup Playlist,” “How to be Yours” and “Dear Other Self.” But it was her most recent role in “Changing Partners” that made Star Magic’s Johnny Manahan notice her. Now that she’s part of the Star Magic family, her simple wish is to headline her own episode of “Maalaala Mo Kaya.” Michael Bagtas, ABS-CBN News

9. CHANTAL VIDELA

This 15-year-old Filipino-Argentinian started as a commercial model two years ago. Since she wants to push the envelope further, Chantal decided to audition for Star Magic. It obviously paid off as she is now part of its newest batch. She hopes work with Liza Soberano one day. Shiela Reyes, ABS-CBN News

10. KARL GABRIEL

Karl is a mechanical engineering student who was also part of the “Pinoy Boyband Superstar.” Unfortunately, he didn’t make it to the live shows. Nonetheless, it did not stop him from landing a role in “Wansapanataym” not too long after. Michael Bagtas, ABS-CBN News

11. MARKUS PATERSON

Like Karl, “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” also paved the way for Markus to join showbiz. Although he also failed to make it to the televised singing contest, he caught the attention of Star Magic’s Johnny Manahan. Currently, Markus is part of the daytime series “Sana Dalawa ang Puso.” Michael Bagtas, ABS-CBN News

12. CHARLIE DIZON

This 21-year-old beauty is not new to acting as well, having been part of the Star Cinema movies “Finally Found Someone,” “Loving in Tandem” and “Seven Sundays.” But what could possibly be considered her biggest break to date is her role in the ABS-CBN fantasy series “Bagani.” Michael Bagtas, ABS-CBN News

13. TONY LABRUSCA

Many now know of Tony, thanks to his role in “La Luna Sangre.” But before that, he was also part of “Pinoy Boyband Superstar.” Tony is the son of actor-dancer Boom Labrusca and former Kulay singer Angel Kones. Now that he is officially part of Star Magic, Tony hopes to work with more veteran actors from whom he could learn some acting chops. Michael Bagtas, ABS-CBN News
