Froilan Canlas said he stumbled over the lyrics to his performances in Saturday's grand finals of "Tawag ng Tanghalan" because he had trouble memorizing them.

"Aminado po ako na sobrang dami ko pong maling lyrics kasi hindi ko naman po talaga songs iyon," he told ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe. "So nahirapan po ako mag-memorize given the limited time."

Canlas notably mucked up near the tail end of his unique take on the popular OPM hit, Up Dharma Down's "Tadhana." He would recover, however, finish his number with a pitch-perfect croon, and move on to nab a place in the top three of the singing contest.

He eventually finished third, behind Batangas native Sam Mangubat and winner Noven Belleza. "Happy pa rin ako na ito iyong narating ko, third. Sobrang happy na ako," Canlas said of his performance.

Asked about what fans can expect from him following his "Tawag ng Tanghalan" stint, he teased about a possible album with the other contestants, adding: "I will just go with the flow kung ano po iyong plano sa amin ng management."
