MANILA — Despite an empty studio as a safety measure due to the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), “It’s Showtime” was off to an electrifying start on Tuesday with the all-out performance of breakout boy group SB19.
Sejun, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin brought their signature energy to the “It’s Showtime” stage with their hit “Alab.”
Their guesting on the ABS-CBN noontime program was announced at the start of the week, ahead of network’s move to temporarily suspend live audience admissions in light of the government declaration of a state public health emergency.
The members of SB19, who have earned widespread praise for their synchronized act, did not disappoint on Tuesday as they performed as if in front of a packed studio.
The non-admission of a live audience was a first in the decade-long run of “It’s Showtime,” which implemented some tweaks in its segments due to the absence of the “madlang people.”
