'Airwolf' star Jan-Michael Vincent dies at 73

US Actor and TV series “Airwolf” star Jan-Michael Vincent passed away on Feb. 10 due to cardiac arrest, according to a report on Friday. He was 73.

In a report published by The Hollywood Reporter, Vincent, who battled with drug and alcohol abuse, died at Mission Hospital's Memorial Campus in Asheville, North Carolina.

During his 1970s heyday, Vincent starred in "Buster and Billie," "White Line Fever," "Baby Blue Marine," "Big Wednesday," and the "The Mechanic."

He was known as Stringfellow Hawke on "Airwolf" that aired from 1984 to 1986 and was one of the highest paid actors on TV.

But Vincent struggled through personal issues and sickness that sent him on a downward spiral, the report said.

The actor was involved in a car accident in 1996 in California which resulted in a neck injury which damaged his vocal cords.

More than a decade later, Vincent was involved in another accident which led to the amputation of his right leg.
