MANILA -- Kim Chiu could not hold back her tears as she recalled the harrowing experience of hearing eight consecutive bullets being fired directly at the van she was in.

Speaking to ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe just hours after the incident, Chiu said she left her house in Quezon City thinking it was just a normal taping day for her.

“Natutulog lang ako. Dapat magbabasa ako ng script pero inantok ako along the way palabas ng village so humiga ako. I’m scared,” she said.

Chiu said she was awakened by the gunfire that she immediately went to check on her driver and personal assistant.

“Tinignan ko silang dalawa. ‘Okay ba kayo?’

It was then when she made several calls, the first of which was to her elder sister.

After that, nag-hang ako,” she said.

Shaken by what happened, Chiu said her instinct was still to go to the set of “Love Thy Woman.”

“Nag-take ako ng dalawang eksena. Siguro adrenaline rush na mag-taping tayo, magtrabaho tayo. People are asking me kung kumusta ako. Hindi ko alam. Tinatanong nila kung kumusta ka. Naisip ko, ‘Oo nga no? Kumusta pala ako.’ Natatakot lang ako why those things are happening,” she said.

While she is clueless about the motive of the gunmen, Chiu is certain she has no bad blood with anyone who might possibly be behind this.

“Diyos ko, ako pa ba? Wala [akong nakasamaan ng loob]. Ang masasabi ko na lang, life is really precious. Kahit wala kang sakit, wala kang kasamaan ng loob. Kung natamaan ka ng balang iyon, siguro wala ka na,” she said.

After what happened, Chiu remains happy she’s alive and none of her companions were hurt. She also took time to thank everyone who have been checking up on her.

“I am very happy and very thankful na more than 100 messages 'yung natanggap ko. Sana makita na kung sino ang bumaril sa kotse ko,” she said.

Chiu said she has already consulted with a lawyer, and that the ABS-CBN bosses are all behind her.
