MANILA -- Jex de Castro kicked off the wild card week of "Tawag ng Tanghalan" on Monday to become the first one to advance to the next round of performances scheduled on Friday.

On Monday, De Castro, a Viva artist according to his Instagram profile, defeated Phoebe Salvatierra, Joylaine Canonio and Hazelyn Cascanio with his performance of "Love On Top" by Beyonce.
