MANILA — Actor Robin Padilla is a proud father following the appointment of his daughter, Queenie, as a youth ambassador of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF).

“Proud of you. Hindi nagkamali ang NCMF na kunin ka bilang kanilang [ambassador]. You are an inspiration to them especially the young mothers,” Padilla captioned Instagram photos of Queenie with her own daughter, Mustazina.

The girl is Queenie’s first child with her Pakistani husband Usama Rashid Mir.

Addressing his daughter, Padilla continued: “Kung ano-ano na ang inalok ko sa iyo but still you chose to be with Mustazina a hands on mother to my grandchild. Ayaw mo ng yaya, gusto mo talaga ikaw sapagkat ‘yun ang Islamic at Sunnah para sa mga babae na nakapaloob sa pag-aasawa.”

“May Allah bless you anak with more patience and success in your tradeswoman dream in shaa Allah,” he said.

In late January, Queenie dedicated her becoming an ambassador of NCMF to the “people who were victimized by the siege on Marawi and the recent bombing in Jolo.”

“They deserve all the acknowledgement for having such immense fighting spirits, to survive and rise again from the rubbles and tragedies they have faced,” she wrote in an Instagram post.

In the same month, Queenie also shared a video of her interaction with “new friends” — women whose lives were changed by the siege.

“It’s heartbreaking, at the same time inspiring because you can feel their strength and resilience to keep moving forward. Subhana’Allah,” she said.
