Cristine Reyes stars in Pedring Lopez’s ‘Maria.’ Viva Films
MANILA — Cristine Reyes, known for her sexy drama roles, is adding a layer of challenge to her signature portrayal in her latest film — by also becoming an action star.
Reyes takes on the titular character in “Maria,” about a woman out for blood after her family is hunted down by a group she formerly had mysterious ties with.
The trailer for the Viva Films production hints that Maria has long kept secret her past as a cartel assassin, until she is faced with threats and subsequently seeks revenge.
Directed by Pedring Lopez, “Maria” also stars Jennifer Lee, Ivan Padilla, KC Montero, and Ronnie Lazaro. It’s scheduled for nationwide release on March 27.
