MANILA – Boy Abunda turned emotional on Monday night as he shared his opinion on the action of the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) to file a quo warranto petition at the Supreme Court for the cancellation of ABS-CBN's franchise.

Speaking on his talk show “Tonight with Boy Abunda,” the TV host shared what his mother would always tell him when she was still alive.

Just like many Filipino families, Abunda noted how much his mother valued ABS-CBN.

Nandiyan ako, nagtratrabaho ako at uuwi ako sa kanya,” he said.

Abunda has worked with the Kapamilya network for over 20 years.

In addition to the quo warranto petition filed by the OSG, the House of Representatives has yet to act on several bills seeking to renew the company's license to operate, which expires on March 30.

President Rodrigo Duterte has repeatedly said he would stop the broadcast operations of ABS-CBN, which drew his anger for allegedly refusing to air his campaign ad during the 2016 presidential campaign.
