MANILA – Sam Milby met his girlfriend, TV host Mari Jasmine, through social media.

“Sa Instagram and Twitter kami nag-meet. Ako ang nag-message. Fina-follow ko siya at fina-follow niya ako matagal na pero walang message at all,” he said on “Magandang Buhay” on Thursday.

Milby added that Mari Jasmine didn’t know who he was before they got together.

Born in Japan, Mari Jasmine moved to Australia where she grew up. Contrary to some claims, she has no Filipino blood because she is of Japanese and British descent.

“Wala siyang alam sa showbiz sa Pilipinas. Hindi rin niya alam na artista ako,” the actor shared.

Months into their relationship, Milby feels fortunate that his girlfriend understands the nature of his job and that they are both willing to do anything to make their partnership work.

Asked if he thinks Mari Jasmine is already the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with, Milby said: ‘Sana. I wouldn’t be in a relationship with her kung hindi ko tingin na siya ang magiging future ko.”

Prior to Mari Jasmine, the last time Milby was in a relationship was with actress Anne Curtis. Their much-publicized breakup happened in 2009, and Milby admits he had a hard time moving on from it.

It took Milby over six years before he found love again.
