MANILA -- A Dubai-based Filipino rock band has secured a distribution deal with a major record label.

The four-piece band Gatilyo is composed of Mark Legaspi (vocals), David Ojeda (guitars), Clyden Bonifacio (bass) and Axzell Florida (drums). Gatilyo is the latest addition to Warner Music Philippines’ stable of artists.

The band is now set to embark on a two-week bar tour in Metro Manila in February to promote their single, "Bagyo," and will share the bill with established local rocks acts including Kjwan and Razorback.

Formed in 2015, Gatilyo has earned a following in the United Arab Emirates, often playing as front act for visiting Filipino bands in the Middle East country.

Drummer Florida advised fellow OFWs dabbling as musicians to keep pursuing their dream no matter how challenging it is to balance work and their passion.

“Keep on practicing to hone your talent and better time management are essential,” he said.

“If you really want it, you’ll find time,” added Legaspi. “More importantly, make sure you’re having fun doing what you love.”
