And they're down to 75.
On Saturday, "It's Showtime" whittled down a pool of 200 girls and named those who are still in the running to become the first-generation members of MNL48, the soon-to-be launched sister group of Japan's popular AKB48.
The finalists were determined by a panel composed of executives from ABS-CBN and Japanese-owned firm Hallo Hallo Entertainment Inc.
Initially, it was announced that there will be a top 100 but, according to the hosts, only 75 managed to pass the criteria set by the panel.
This will kick off the next stage of the search, which aims to find 48 girls to be part of MNL48.
The voting process will be done through the official MNL48 app, where one supporter can vote for up to 5 girls.
