MANILA -- Ending a whirlwind week of speculation, actress Kylie Padilla has finally confirmed rumors that she is three months pregnant, website Pep reported Thursday.

The daughter of action star Robin Padilla, Kylie, together with her fiance Aljur Abrenica, told the website that they are happily expecting their first child.

Kylie revealed that she had herself tested back in November, weeks before rumors about her pregnancy sprang up. "Actually, even before the pregnancy test, alam ko na. Kasi very aware ako sa katawan ko," she admitted.

For his part, Abrenica shared that he is ecstatic about being a father, saying: "Nakakatuwa kasi masaya, kasi blessing 'yun, eh. Sino ba naman ang hindi sasaya na nagkaroon ka ng anak, bilang isang lalaki, sa babaeng mahal na mahal mo?"

In the same interview, Abrenica also spoke about their engagement, which was only announced last Tuesday. He told Pep that he and Kylie have been engaged since October, and have been living together since.

He added that he proposed to Kylie twice, first during a vacation to Japan and second back here in the Philippines.

Abrenica confessed that he did not have ready ring during his two proposals, making do with a make-shift strand of plastic when he asked her then-girlfriend a second time.

However, he said that he eventually did buy Kylie a ring, explaining: "Tulad ng ibang babae, gusto ko namang maging proud si Kylie, may ipinagmamalaki siyang singsing."

"Kahit wala akong trabaho ngayon, matagal na yung huling project ko sa GMA, mayroon naman akong naipon kaya bumili ako ng singsing para sa kanya," he said.

Their engagement was first made public early this week by Kylie's talent agency, Vidanes Celebrity Marketing -- a move that did not sit well with Abrenica.

He saw the interview with Pep as a chance to air his grievances towards the agency, saying: "Sa totoo lang, medyo nabastusan ako sa ginawa nila. Kasi, kung kanino man dapat manggaling ang balitang ito, dapat sa aming dalawa ni Kylie."

"Kahit man lang sana pasintabi, abiso sa akin, i-text man lang sana ako na sabihin or kahit ako pa ang tumawag sa kanila, e, para magpaalam man lang, puwede pa sana. Kaso wala, wala ako narinig."

Abernica and Kylie first became a couple in 2011. They then had a much-publicized breakup in 2014, but got back together last year.

'Robin's reaction'

Meanwhile, Kylie also shared her father's reaction when she first broke the news of her pregnancy. She said that Padilla, who recently had welcomed his first child with wife Mariel Rodriguez, had no qualms about it.

"Ipinakita ko sa kanya 'yung scan nung bata, kasi kita na 'yung ilong. Sabi niya, 'O, anak, ha, alagaan mo iyan,'" Kylie said.

Kylie added that her engagement with Abernica has the blessing of Padilla, even if her fiance has yet to personally meet him. "Nagbitaw naman ng salita si Papa. Sabi niya, 'Kung handa na talaga kayo, nandito lang ako.'"

Her mother, Liezl Sicangco, was similarly supportive, according to Kylie. "Ang unang-unang sinabi ni Mama, 'Basta, anak, huwag mong ipapalaglag 'yan.' Siyempre, alam naman ni Mama sa showbiz, eh. Sabi ko, 'Opo.' Tapos, yun."
