MANILA -- Karlo Mojica's journey on of "The Voice of the Philippines" ended on Sunday after Bamboo chose Rita Martinez in the first live elimination night of the competition.
Mojica, Martinez and Kai Honasan were the first three members of Kamp Kawayan who competed on Saturday's live performance show.
Bamboo admitted that he had to make a very difficult decision.
"This is a very hard choice. Kagabi lang eh, right after the show, I knew it, this is going to be hard. I had to really, bumalik nga ako, like what Lea (Salonga) did. I went on YouTube, I watched it again and again, and mahirap pa rin. It's a hard thing to choose. That's a credit to both of you. Kagabi, ang gaganda ng performances. You were both consistent and strong, which I liked. But I have to save one," the rocker said.
Bamboo eventually chose Martinez, giving her another chance in the competition.
"The person I'm saving, I just felt had the best performance of the night for me, vocally," he said.
Martinez has been previously eliminated during the Knock Out round, but was given another chance after another contestant, Joniver Robles, left the show due to personal reasons.
Meanwhile, Honasan automatically got a spot in the next round of the competition after getting 44.71% of viewers votes.
The senator's daughter showed off her unique voice on Saturday with her own rendition of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space".
