MANILA - The new year is indeed shaping up to be a good one for the wildly popular Irish group Westlife.

After announcing their comeback to the music scene last year, the band dropped its first single in eight years last January 10.

Titled “Hello My Love,” the fresh track was co-written by superstar hitmakers Ed Sheeran and Steve Mac.

Since it was uploaded on the group’s official YouTube page, the song has already garnered more than 5 million views with most of the netizens commenting how long they have waited for the band to come up with a new song.

Aside from their just released single, Westlife is also set to gift their fans with a new album later this year.

Furthermore, they will bring around the UK and Ireland their “The Twenty Tour,” a first for the group in seven years. It celebrates Westlife’s two decades in the music industry.

The shows will see the group perform brand new songs as well as their greatest hits including “Swear It Again,” “Flying Without Wings,” “You Raise Me Up” and “Unbreakable.”

Comprised of Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Mark Feehily and Kian Egan, Westlife is arguably one of the most successful boybands of this generation.

Westlife has sold over 55 million records worldwide and is the only band to have their first seven singles enter the UK charts at No. 1. They have had several No. 1 albums worldwide and as a live act have sold five million concert tickets worldwide.
