After nearly a decade as a contract artist of ABS-CBN's talent arm Star Magic, Xian Lim on Tuesday officially signed up with Viva Artists Agency, joining the likes of fellow Kapamilya stars Anne Curtis and Sarah Geronimo.

Speaking with reporters after his contract-signing, the 28-year-old actor explained how he came to the decision, and how the move could affect his well-loved tandem with Kim Chiu, his onscreen partner who is also part of Star Magic.

Now a Viva artist, Lim is free to take up projects with networks other than ABS-CBN, but he made clear his preference: to stay loyal to the Kapamilya network which he calls home.
