After her Golden Globes win, Angela Bassett won best supporting actress at the Critics Choice Awards 2023 for her performance in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

In her speech, Bassett paid tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020. “We couldn’t have made history, then and now, without you,” she said.

Bassett thanked Marvel fans and the people behind her hit movie. She was up against Jessie Buckley (“Women Talking”), Kerry Condon (“The Banshees of Inisherin”), Jamie Lee Curtis (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”), Stephanie Hsu (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”), and Janelle Monáe (“Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”).
