Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil lead the cast of ‘Make It With You.’ ABS-CBN

“Make It With You,” the comeback teleserye of Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, had no shortage of dreamy sights as it premiered on television Monday night, and ranked among the top worldwide trends on Twitter.

Set in Croatia, the pilot episode of “Make It With You” introduced the real-life couple’s characters, Billy and Gabo, Filipinos whose lives intersect in the European country.

The mysterious Gabo, an illegal immigrant in Croatia, is forced to live in the streets of Dubrovnik and make ends meet, after his caravan gets intercepted by authorities.

Billy, meanwhile, appears to have a more established life there, as she is shown juggling dates professionally. On top of her work with the dating service, she attempts to swindle her matches to take home more than her salary.

Behind closed doors, the headstrong and confident Billy shows a vulnerable side, when it comes to her family in the Philippines.

She is overcome with worry when she learns, through a video call, that her father’s (Herbert Bautista) bakery is struggling.

Motivated to provide for her family, Billy takes on one job after another. This time, her latest match — at least the description of him — leads her to Gabo, whom she mistakes as the man she is supposed to meet.

As the pilot of “Make It With You” aired on primetime and streamed on ABS-CBN’s online platforms, its official hashtag rose as the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter in the Philippines, and among the top 10 worldwide.

Viewers praised the cinematography the captured tourist attractions in Croatia, as well as the performances of lead stars Gil, as a desperate runaway, and Soberano, as a scheming chameleon.
